I knit and have countless wool caps, but I bought this for myself on a pre-holiday sale and it's quickly risen to the top of my hat heap—I go for this one every time. At first it was a bit too snug—and I have a small head—but it has stretched a bit upon use and is perfect and warm without being too snug at all. Bought the green, waiting for a follow-up sale to purchase other colors. DON'T machine wash your woollens! A bit of dish soap and lukewarm water in a wash tub every once in a while. Squeeze it out gently, then wrap and squeeze in a bath towel. Then air dry in a warm spot in your home. That's it!

Please don't make the same mistake I made. Do NOT put it in the washer for any reason. It will shrink and lose shape and not be wearable any longer.
Both my husband and I, a petite woman, tried this on and we both felt it fit too tight to wear comfortably. We both wear glasses, so it might be that this hat is too tight on the ears for glasses wearers.
I ordered the burnt orange color in this beanie and was really surprised that I loved it as much as I did. Comfortable, well made and as another reviewer mentioned the merino wool is wonderful.
I purchased one of these a few months back, loved how it feels and warmth even on cold windy days. Decided get 3 more as a result. Plan on sharing with a few friends.
