Had a chance to use it. It's warm, and in a cold sleety rain, the water ran off
Men's AKHG Puffin Hooded Jacket
Our roots are in Alaska in AKHG, and if you ask any of the folks who live that far north why they stay, you’ll get stories of glorious-but-brutal wilderness, record salmon hauls out of icy waters, and iffy encounters with moose. The next thing they’ll tell you: While nature doesn’t pull any punches, it needs to be conserved. It’s why we took a hard look at our customer-favorite Puffin Jacket, and remade it from 100% recycled materials while keeping all the performance. Still packs channel-quilted synthetic insulation that lofts and insulates even when it gets soaked. With a featherweight, snag-resistant shell that holds its own against scrapes and scratches. Storm flap to block wind at the zipper, and Reach Gussets® that give you unparalleled freedom to move. Which is all to say it’s the same reliable heat-trapping Puffin as before, but now a bit kinder to that great, unkind wild.

Size
I had not bought a coat in 12 years. The wrists are great because they will curl under just a bit. Sounds weird but once you get used to it, it stops the wind. The hood fits real nice and its a lightweight coat, keeps super warm even at 0 degrees and a t shirt. I prefer the tall due to my size. Recommended it to a friend and he also likes the fit and how it works. Able to maneuver easy.
I got the camouflaged version of this jacket over a year ago. I wanted to wait to give my review until I'd had it for a season or two. I've used C-hartt jackets in the past, but was interested in this particular jacket since it was on sale and was lighter than the C-hartt duck and more "packable"/less bulky. I work around fire alot and was concerned about fireflies and flying embers putting holes in it, so I mainly used it for going out into town for the end of last season. This season, I started to actually use it as a work coat. We've had a "cold snap" for the past 3 weeks (10 - 20F) and I've been wearing it every day. It definitely keeps me warm. I've had to adjust my layers to keep from getting too hot. I had one without a hood, but we get cold wind blowing off of the water here, so I decided to try one with a hood. The hood pulls tight to my head and cheeks to lock in heat. I do daily farm chores with it, do mechanic work, and use it when I move firewood. I don't think it would last me a whole season if I weren't considerate about my use (such as holding items like firewood or other abrasive items against me while I carry them or sliding across the concrete shop floor). That being said, I think it is durable for the type of material, but it's not going to last like a duck or denim jacket. It does stay warmer and lighter when wet. Overall, I recognized this when I bought it, so I guess I can't complain about the durability as I willingly traded it for weight/bulkiness of my older work coat. I'm actually considering buying another if the right color goes on sale. Right now the color selections are pretty light, so I'm hoping there are some darker colors next season (to hide the dirt and grime). Oh. Also, on the fire thing, I've reached into the wood stove quite a few times now and haven't had any burn holes. I also accidentally touched the stove with it for a split second a few times and it didn't melt or leave a mark.
Love this jacket, I haven't had a warmer and more comfortable jacket for winter until I purchased this one. If I had one complaint for this jacket it would be it can get to warm…
Used when shoveling snow when temperature was 28 Fahrenheit and wind in the high teens. With hood up I was very warm. Jacket is light and fits well.
