I have ordered SO many work pants for my husband from Duluth, and he ALWAYS wears a 30 inch waist. These pants he can't even button, it's an inch too small. You better order up a size if you get these. The fabric is sturdy, but after one washing, the pants are even smaller in waist.

STORY
Double-chapped work pants are time-honored wear for makers who spend their days waist-deep at a workbench or in the woods. Ours are crafted from a sturdy, subtly stretchy, cotton dobby canvas that imbues them with character. First woven in the 1840s, dobby is made on a specialized loom that gives it a unique raised texture and geometric thread pattern that sets it apart from treadle-woven fabrics. Deep front pockets, button-flap rear pockets and a coin pocket on the wearer’s right contain everything you can’t leave home without.
Size
The fabric is lightweight and comfy, yet durable. The material stretches and gives just enough to make these pants really comfortable. The fit is right on, not too baggy.
Order these at least 1-in larger waist size than you normally get. Probably 2. I ordered these pants in my normal 32"/32" and the waist was very tight. However, I loved just about everything else about them. So I ordered 33" and they fit, but only fit comfortably under my hips, over my hips is too tight when I sat down. Fitting under my hips, my usual 32" length is way too long and I suspect this is the case over my hips, too, but I can't really tell. About to place my third order to try and find a size that fits and it's a bit stressful for several reasons. I don't know if I'm supposed to try 34"/32" or 34"/31" next. I don't know if I'll be charged for shipping returning all of these items. I also need these for a work trip so I don't have a lot of time to keep testing different sizes. Also aside from the waist, the cut of the original 32" pair I tried fit like a broken-in pair of boots. It was wonderful. When I went to 33", the fit was a little baggier. Now that I'm about to try 34"/32" (or am i supposed to try 34"/31"?) I am worried that will be too baggy. Not really sure. If I didn't like the pants so much I wouldn't have put in this much effort, but not sure if I've ever had to before.
HEAVY DUTY BUTTON AND ZIPPER. WAFFLE STYLE THREADING. YOU CAN TELL THESE WILL LAST YEARS NOT MONTHS.
I like these pants and like the softness of them. I got them on sale and will buy them again. Not sure if I would pay full price though.
