Nice weight and feel of fabric. Stretchy fabric is very comfortable for any activity or sitting in a crowded plane seat. Pockets are plentiful, roomy and strategically placed. These are becoming my go-to shorts. I'll be getting more for sure.
Highly recommend these carpenter shorts. Fabric is light enough to breathe but seems like they will stand up to hard work due to the fabric's finish; the fit is relaxed but not too baggy. Have worn them in hot weather and they certainly breathe better than other models. Pocket locations and size are great. Iphone or linesmans fits in right leg pocket; no left leg pocket which I don't understand why that was left out. The waist bellows/stretch system allows for a lot of flex and leaves me feeling much less confined (when compared to non-stretch shorts). Right rear zip pocket and front right zip coin pocket are nice additions and theoretically useful but I don't use the zip feature almost at all. I could see stashing a few drill bits in the front pocket to zip it up on a jobsite. The two stacked front pockets on each leg are a cool feature. Personally, I don't like cargo shorts, which is why I like these Carpenter shorts so much; I think the stacked multiple layers of fabric reduce breathability and 99.5% of the time, I'm not using the cargo pockets. When I do use them, those items are just sloshing around in the pocket and banging into me when I walk. The Foreman shorts or these shorts solve that problem. Wicked awesome design!

We originally got the 11 inch! To long! So we sent back for the 9 inch. I think that is long unless you are a tall fellow! Very thick great grade!

It started with two pairs of Firehouse pants this past winter. Loved them so much I bought 3 pair of the shorts version. Best shorts I own. Tough well made yet lightweight. Wife compliments the fit. Really appreciate the zip front pocket, I travel a lot and anything that prevents pick pocketers gets a thumbs up. My opinion worth the premium price.
