Bring back 1.0 pants!!!!

I am a long time DT customer. I own pants, shirts, shoes, belts, jackets, etc. Ballroom khakis have been my go to pants for work for years. I love the cell phone pocket feature and they are comfortable and durable. The 2.0 version is not as nice as 1.0. The new pocket is in the wrong place on the leg and it has a zipper which makes it cumbersome to use. The waist button is plastic instead of the original riveted metal button and the fit is different. I have nothing good to say about 2.0 except I bought them on sale! Duluth - Please bring back Ballroom khakis 1.0!!!

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

From Workwear to Worthless

If you need a solid, dependable pair of work pants that can transition between the office and the field, look elsewhere—these no longer make the cut. The original design was perfect for workers who split their time between a desk and real hands-on work, but this "2.0" version completely misses the mark. A good pair of work pants should be a reliable tool—durable, practical, and built for the job. Unfortunately, these pants fail on all counts. The material is noticeably lighter and stretchier, making them feel flimsy and significantly less durable. They simply aren't suited for real work. The redesign only makes things worse. The new pocket placement is baffling—it serves no practical purpose and actually makes the pants non-functional. The side pocket should be horizontal, without zippers or Velcro, for easy access in the field. I understand the intent was to make the design look more polished for an office setting, but these pants were never meant to be c-suite dress slacks. Plenty of other options that fill this area of the market. Whoever approved this redesign—whether it was a summer intern or an entire out-of-touch design team—clearly doesn't understand what makes workwear effective. This was a complete misstep in an attempt to redesign the wheel. Don't fix what isn't broken!

Bring back the original version!

These are not slim fit. The side pocket is useless. The orignal version of these pants were perfect other than the crotch wearing out too soon.

The new pants are not as good

Whoever redesigned the phone pocket on the new version must have never worn the older pants. The new pocket is almost unusable. The new pants are still comfortable and durable but the phone pockets almost ruins them.

It wasn't broken, why did you fix it?

The 2.0 version of these pants are much more synthetic feeling than the 1.0. The pants are now too stretchy and don't feel like cotton, they feel synthetic. I am very disappointed. I don't like the feel of this material and won't buy them again. That tough cotton/canvas feel is one of the attractions of this kind of pant and now that is gone. The 1.0 had a very functional phone pocket that allowed you to grab your phone quickly and easily. The new phone pocket is useless unless your main concern is security and not convenience. The pocket has to be zipped and unzipped to access your phone and it points backwards so that when you're sitting down it is hard to get the phone out. I'm sure this was a money saving move to have the pocket along the seam instead of across it. You might as well save more money and eliminate the pocket altogether because I don't use it anymore.
