I've worn many boots over the years, Keens, solomons, Wolverines, Stanely and others. These Jackpines have become my favorite daily spring, summer and fall boot. I wear my fleece unkeens for colder fall to michigan winters when I am coming and going places. Waterproof: When it comes to waterproof boot, if the whole boot is going to be submurgered. It needs to be solid construction without tounge and groove. Very few boots can tolerate not allowing the water to repel after it seeps into the toung and groove area of your footwear. These are perfect for my day to day. Light jogs, river walks, unpaved trails, over 100,000 sq yards of lawn renovations (wet and cold conditions). Warehouse work of working inventory and more. I use these for hiking, lawn work, and just everyday wear. I'm sad that I can't replace these. For my pair, i can run water over the toe cap, submerge the outsoole just up to the tongue and my feet still stay dry. I've ran these under a hose bib/spiget, faucet just to show how waterproof they remain. The inside still remains dry. I'm unsure of how others are using these boots. If they are submerging it past the tonge and groove or not. As for shoe laces, and needing to replace them often. I do not have that issue. I prefer buying the waxed leather laces or waxing the laces myself to give them some grip and protection. These jackpines have yet to wear down that pair. My keen circadia have cut through those after daily wear and tear plus chemicals eating it up. Other than that, the laces from Duluth are just fine and typically last me a year or longer at times. 7 boots, one brand of lace. Lawn pestecides, herbecides, Auto detailing products of acid and alkaline have hit the surface of most of my boots. These have held up. I actually want two more pairs of these.

You never know what you’ll see when you venture deep into the northern jackpine forests. Maybe a bull elk, a black bear or even an up-close encounter with a wayward yeti. What you won’t find are bridges and manicured trails – which is why you need to lace yourself into Jackpine Waterproof Boots that’ll carry you comfortably through the northern forests they’re named for. The upper is waterproof pig leather with a 3M® Scotchgard® treatment that sheds moisture, mud and stains. Inside, a DuluthDry® waterproof/breathable membrane locks out water, yet lets fresh air flow through. Antimicrobial Dri-Lex lining solves stink. Removable dual durometer footbed puts extra cushioning at impact points. Dirt-shedding lugged Vibram® outsole gives you a no-slip grip as you vault boulders and scramble up scree.
Size
Outerwear I've bought: shirts, jackets, overalls, allways seems to be oversized, But i love the work boots I bought years ago. Just resoled a third time. Was surprised these ran so small. Might have reordered, but larger size not available.
I purchased my second pair of these boots back in late June of 2024. Boy am I sorry I did!! I should have listened to the many reviews regarding the laces breaking due to the proclaimed improved lace eyelets! Not only are these complaints accurate, I would add to that complaint by saying; it's no wonder!! You can't even cinch up the laces no matter how hard you pull!! My first pair lasted me 3 years and I was really looking forward to another 3 years of comfort, durability, waterproof-ness (never once did my feet get wet) and the fit was perfect right out of the box!! I'm not sure why companies (not only Duluth Trading) have a need to fix what isn't broken and then claim to have improved the product and up the price!! Did anyone in the organization test the prototype? If they did, I find it hard to believe they wouldn't have immediately noticed this glaring flaw. I have spent a lot of money on Duluth Trading products since 2017. Everything from pants, socks, rain gear, shirts, hats, you name it. Over the years, there seems to be a need on the companies part to want to sell so called "new and improved" product, when in fact in many cases I have found this not to be the case for the items I personally order every year. On a positive note, I had my wife return the aforementioned boots while she was up in Duluth, MN and I at least got a Merchandise Card for the value of my ill advised Jackpine boot purchase.
I work a job thats not intense on your feet. Though walking through morning dew my socks are soaked... Not sure if worth going through returning
So far, great. Broken in but haven't tested the waterproofing yet. I like the higher in front, slightly lower along the Achilles heel design.
