It’s a genius move to make things as simple as possible, but no simpler. This philosophy guides the engineering of every single piece of Duluth’s 40 Grit® gear. Take these Carpenter Jeans, for instance. The denim is durable, but not so heavy it slows you down. You get all the storage you need, including a reinforced carpenter pocket, bonus ruler pocket and hammer loop. Instead of only 5 belt loops, we’ve built in 7 so your pants won’t gap at the waist when you bend. And added a Crouch Gusset® to give your lower unit more idling room. Everything you need and nothing you don’t.

I've been a 36/32 for over 30 years, I can wear a 33" inseam, 34" is too long. I bought these in 36/32, and after washing & drying a few times, they feel like a 36/30 or maybe 31" inseam, but either way, TOO short. They borderline on "clown pants" short. What's crazy is, I love the 40 Grit twill pants. I have 3 pairs of them and they are the longest wearing, most durable, comfortable work pants I own. I thought I'd give the jeans a shot. Wish i had just stuck with the twill pants. They're decent jeans, just order the next longer inseam if you're gonna machine wash and dry them.
The jeans were very comfortable but while doing yard work the jeans must have gotten caught on the plastic fence and ripped pretty easily. I am not sure why they ripped because none of the fence was broken or had sharp edges. So I just decided to purchase a different style Duluth pants and I'll try those out instead.

Very comfortable, excellent for working.
I used to wear Levi 501 to work. But they always ripped, were heavy, don't breathe and just too restrictive. Went to Duluth Flex Carpenter Pants. Those are excellence personified, tho costly. These are very affordable and exceptionally comfortable. I cannot oversell them. This is my favorite pant by far. Time will tell about durability. The DF CP last about 2 years tops. If these last 10 months, which shouldn't be a problem, then they are worth every cent.
