Space rockets have awesome launch power, but they come up decidedly short on cargo space – even for a tool as essential as a knife. To solve that problem, a famous space exploration company commissioned Darriel Caston of D Rocket Design to design a knife expressly for their crews. The result is the MinimalX™– a quick flipper that fits as much strength and durability into a small, light package as possible. It’s a boxy, brutish little knife that measures just a shade over 3" when closed. A modified tanto blade resists breakage better than standard points. The razor-sharp 12C27 steel blade boasts excellent edge retention, yet sharpens with speed and ease. Stainless steel handle withstands turbulence, meteor strikes and bumpy landings. The smooth-opening IKBS™ ball bearing makes it easy to deploy one-handed, and the rugged lock bar prevents injury from accidental closures – a must because there are no emergency rooms in space.
