No matter how much time you spend on the water, we’re sure you’ve found yourself wishing you had a third hand. The fine folks at Gerber have engineered something that comes close – so useful they named it the Freehander. The most ingenious part is the flip-lever line vise built into the side. When you mount the Freehander to your vest or clip it to your belt loop, it holds your fishing line in place so you can give your full, two-handed attention to tying on lures or swapping flies. It’s also the most beefed-up set of nippers you ever saw, with wide paddles for sure-grip control with wet hands plus stainless steel cutters that can be swapped out whenever they get dull. Built-in eyelet spike to get paint out of the eye of new jigheads, free up knots or generally remove gunk. Sling it on a zinger and take it to the water with you every time. You’re going to find yourself grabbing for it on reflex before you know it.
