I love the overall fit of these pants. I have purchased several pairs of this exact pant in XS 29 over the past 6 or 7 years. I normally wear a small (size 4-6) and they fit perfectly when I first wear them. My latest order of 2 pairs was no exception, but after 3-4 wears they started to become baggy all over, especially in the butt and upper legs. Even after washing and drying, they still feel too baggy and now I wonder if I should order XXS? If not for this issue I would give it 5 stars...
I have bought and loved a LOT of Duluth products over the years but these were a huge disappointment. While I love the quality of their products, they really need to take a serious look at standardizing their sizing. These are enormous, so much so that I can't even wear them. By now I should know better than to buy anything from DTC without trying it on (fortunately there is a brick and mortar store in my metro area, though it is a long and congested drive to get to it at the far side of the county.) I am a pretty standard size 12 though I vary from 10 to 14 depending on my seasonal activity level. My waist currently is 34 and hips are 42, which should be the "12-14" range on the size chart for these leggings. I could literally share them with a friend. The actual waist measurement after washing is 36 1/2" (flat, not stretched) and the hips are a gaping 47". This corresponds to the XL on their chart, not the L. One would need to have an enormous booty to fill these out also -- the proportions are way off. Similarly, when I first bought a pair of the gardening overalls, I ordered them in L. I looked like a little kid in an adult garment. Sent them back and got a pair of M but they were still huge and the legs dragged on the floor though at 5' 5" and with proportionally long legs that has never been a problem with other manufacturers' clothing. I then went to the store and tried on the other sizes: the S fit me perfectly! Since the S is listed as a "4 - 6" it is ludicrous that somebody my size fits a garment sized that way. Is this just vanity sizing gone haywire? It's not consistent either. An M in one item fits like a S in another or a L in yet another. I know of no other brand that is so nonstandard in sizing and it has been getting worse rather than better. I generally wear M in their tops including several jackets I've purchased but a jacket I bought last year in M was so poorly cut that I could barely raise my arms in it and had to return it.
Please have a khaki, medum gray not heather army green ... colors that are versatile with many other colors. Love the 29 length!
