As a Fire investigator, finding warm gear that holds up to the dirt and crud is a challenge. Finding gear that fits is even bigger challenge. I have had my original fleece lined pants for two winters now and can say they are 100% worth the money. They keep me warm and are super comfortable. I love the slight curve in the waistband to keep everything covered. I can fit two phones in one pocket and a bulky wallet in the other cargo pocket. Plus the traditional side pockets are deep enough can use for storage. I love the "pokey things" pocket. My only wish is that there was a stitch or something that would hold the inner pocket down during wash cycles. I always have to fix the pocket before putting on because it's twisted. As far as stain resistance goes, I'm impressed. I do have a few stains but after most fires I can get everything out.

Size
Too tight. Order a size up.
In general, my true to size is 12. I have other Duluth pants in 12 and 14, so I initially ordered one in navy and one in black in 12. Unfortunately, due to the style, I couldn't even button either. They do not have much stretch, so I exchanged them for a size 14. I tried both the navy and black multiple times, but they still felt smaller than the other kind I have. Although the navy still felt smaller than I'd like, I decided to keep it. I have only wore it once and love that they are lined and kept me warm. The material is durable, but found it stiff, and am hoping it will loosen some over time. After multiple tries, the cut or sizing for the black is different. It feels smaller than the navy and I can't wear it comfortably, so have decided to return it. I was disappointed with how they fit me.
I had originally bought a pair of the men's firehose lined pants. They were and still are the best pair of pants I own. I decided to order a women's pair and was sorely disappointed. The pockets on the women's are traditional women's sized, meaning I can barely fit my whole hand in there, let alone a phone or a tool. The fabric feels cheaper and more thin than the men's. The waistline was also terrible. I had nearly 2 inches that stuck out on the back. I had highly recommended Duluth pants to a colleague, and then had to go back and apologize for the recommendation, as she was sorely disappointed as well. Please fix the waist gapping issues!! And the pockets!! Women deserve big pockets just as much as men do!

These pants are the best for casual outdoor activities in the winter - the lined fabric keeps me toasty warm during cold and windy doggy walks here in the city. Some moisture also wicks off them, though I probably wouldn't opt to wear them in a rain storm. I LOVE the fit; these are the correct fit for my hips and thighs AND snug enough in the waist that I don't need to wear a belt, even when they stretch slightly. They are the only pair of lined pants I own which didn't require alteration to fit in the waist! They're perfect. I'm 5'7" and curvy. I bought a size 14, 31 inseam.
